Job Summary: The Financial Reporting Accountant will support the Bank through ensuring the overall integrity and accuracy of the general ledger and preparation of financial and management reports.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
· The incumbent will ensure that all internal and external reporting requirements are met, including preparation of monthly and quarterly accounts, quarterly press release & statutory annual financial statements.
· Act as the custodian of the general ledger, chart of accounts & the repository for all Financial & management information for the Bank.
· In charge of monitoring all balance sheet and income statement account movements and ensuring that they reflect the correct balances and all relevant account reconciliations are performed and corrective actions taken.
· Responsible for the preparation of monthly general ledger reconciliations
· Reconciliation of suspense accounts to ensure that they are cleared daily.
· Maintain the fixed asset register, ensuring that amounts ultimately recorded in the general ledger are correct.
· Perform detailed review & analysis of the trial balance to confirm the integrity of reported results.
· Capturing all journals in the Systems.
· Preparation of requisite schedules for the annual audit.
· Ensure maintenances of and adherence to PBU accounting policies and Procedures.
· Managing bank reconciliation
· Perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
· The applicant should preferably hold a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration/ Commerce (Accounting option).
· Possession of professional qualification in ACCA or CPA is a MUST
· A minimum of three to five years’ experience in Finance in a Financial Institution.
· Ability to think critically, analyse problems and make I sound decisions.
· Excellent report writing and presentation skills.
· Computer literacy and familiarity with the Microsoft, Excel and suite applications.
· Age: Between 26-35 years
