Reproductive Health Uganda (RHU) is a member of the International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF), and its core mandate is to promote high quality, high-impact and gender sensitive Sexual & Reproductive Health and Rights information and services through capacity building, specialized service delivery, issue specific advocacy and strategic partnerships.
Job Summary: The Accounts Assistant will support the Accountant in managing and maintaining Project Accounts, Logistics and Supplies in line with the project funding agreement/financial procedures.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
· Keenly verify all project payments to ensure accuracy, correctness and compliance to set procedures
· Write and maintain accurate books of accounts.
· Manage all bank and cash transactions.
· Ensure regular budget follow-up and budget revisions when necessary
· Prepare and submit timely periodic financial reports
· Maintain logistical and stores record according to RHU guidelines
· Plan, monitor and budget for commodity requirements and purchasing, and commodity distribution
· Perform any other professional duties as may be assigned by the Accountant.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
· The ideal candidate should preferably hold a Bachelor of Commerce degree.
· Computer literacy i.e. working knowledge of Navision accounting software will be an added advantage.
· A year of prior NGO experience will be an added advantage
· Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills in regard to office administration
