Job Summary: The Assistant Accountant will support MAP International in the performing Administration (finance) department related duties.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
· Responsible for the daily recording of the cash-book and journals;
· Ensure the maintenance of books of accounts and records of all expenditures and revenues.
· Responsible for preparing payments by cash, cheque, transfers, bank drafts;
· Ensure the daily reconciliation of cash to cashbook and other records;
· Making regular review of bank statement and cashbook and initiate the necessary journal entries.
· Keenly review and verify payments requests and their supporting documents for accuracy, legality and conformity to organization’s and donor policies and procedures.
· Ensure proper and accurate coding of transactions in conformity with organization’s policies and procedures.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
· The ideal candidate should hold a Diploma in Business studies or the equivalent qualification from a recognised Institution.
· The person must be honest, reliable and with a clean track record.
· Computer proficient with working knowledge of MS Word and MS Excel. Knowledge of accounting software will be an added advantage.
· Ability to work under minimum supervision and be ready to learn fast.
· Immediate availability.
