Bookkeeper – Jinja – One Acre Fund

About US:
One Acre Fund (OAF) is an International NGO that supports smallholder farmers to increase their harvests and thus increase their incomes with a strong footprint in Kenya, Rwanda, Burundi, and Tanzania. In these countries our 3,000+ strong staff serves over 200,000 smallholding farmers and helps them to grow their way out of hunger and poverty. To do this, One Acre Fund provides farmers with high-quality inputs like seed and fertilizer, financing, and training.

Job Summary: The Bookkeeper will support One Acre Fund in managing farmer data and to offer financial support to our rapidly growing team.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Data Management:
· In charge of daily updating of records
· Quality check of field data
· Managing incoming cash from field team
· In charge of reconciling accounts
2. Finance Support: Providing support to our finance team as they execute payments and reconcile accounts

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
· The ideal candidate must have completed Secondary school education. Applicants with university level degrees will be preferred
· Prior experience in a professional office setting is required though no prior finance experience is required.
· Possess a positive attitude i.e. no task is too large or too small.
· Exceptionally punctual
· Multi-tasking skills and ability
· High degree of professionalism.
· Keen attention to detail and accuracy
· Excellent computer skills, proficient in typing, and familiar with MS Office Suite (e.g. MS Excel, MS Word)
· Excellent communication skills, can read/write/speak English & Luganda fluently, Lusoga an added advantage.
· Excellent problem solving skills and ability to work without supervision
