Business Development Manager, Ridelink Limited

Ridelink is a B2B SaaS platform powering product logistics for businesses of all sizes in East Africa. We have been providing smart logistics solutions to over 3000 businesses since 2017 and have since garnered coverage of 7 markets within the Region and we are just getting started.

Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to join our executive team and drive the operational excellence of Ride Link. The ideal candidate will be a strategic leader with a proven track record in optimizing business operations, fostering innovation, and ensuring the highest levels of customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:
• As a Business Development Manager for Ridelink, you will play a pivotal role in driving the growth and success of our business. Your primary focus will be on identifying strategic opportunities, establishing partnerships, and expanding our market presence. Leveraging your industry knowledge and exceptional communication skills, you will lead initiatives to acquire new clients, enhance customer relationships, and contribute to the overall business strategy. Your responsibilities will include among others:

Market Analysis and Strategy: Conduct in-depth market research to identify trends, competitors, and potential opportunities and develop and execute a comprehensive business development strategy aligned with the company’s goals.
• Client Acquisition: Identify and target potential clients, understanding their logistics needs and presenting tailored solutions, Lead negotiations, contract discussions, and successfully onboard new clients.
• Partnership Development: Establish and nurture strategic partnerships with key stakeholders, including logistics providers, technology partners, and industry influencers and collaborate with partners to enhance service offerings and market reach.
• Sales and Revenue Growth: Develop and implement sales plans to achieve revenue targets and build and maintain a robust sales pipeline, consistently closing deals to drive business growth.
• Customer Relationship Management: Cultivate strong relationships with existing clients, ensuring high satisfaction and identifying opportunities for upselling.
• Address client feedback and concerns promptly to maintain positive partnerships.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration through collaborating with internal teams, including operations, technology, and marketing, to ensure seamless delivery of services and alignment with client expectations.
• Brand Representation: Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and client meetings to enhance brand visibility and establish a strong market presence.
• Performance Metrics and Reporting: Define key performance indicators (KPIs) and regularly report on business development activities and outcome and analyze Market metrics to optimize strategies and improve overall performance.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field; MBA is a plus.
• Proven experience in business development, sales, or a related role within the logistics or e-commerce industry.
• Strong understanding of e-logistics trends, technologies, and market dynamics.
• Exceptional negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strategic partnerships.
• Results-oriented with a track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
• Analytical mindset and proficiency in using data to drive decision-making.
• Adaptability to a dynamic startup environment.
