The Infectious Diseases Institute (IDI) is an international non-profit organization which is a partnership of infectious diseases and public health specialists. The overall objective of the IDI is to strengthen health systems with strong emphasis on Infectious Diseases, through Research and Capacity Development. IDI has five operational areas through which it works to achieve its mission: Prevention, Care and Treatment; Training, Research and Laboratory services (provided through a partnership with the Makerere University – John Hopkins University Core Lab) and Outreach.

Job Summary: The Cashier will perform a variety of accounting activities related to payment and receipt of money, banking, classify, record and enter transactions into the financial systems.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Tasked with arranging for and banking all monies received
Drawing cash from bank, as authorized
The jobholder will also be effecting cash payments, as authorized
Following-up payments from office Imprest to ensure reimbursements
Preparing and issuing receipts
Updating and maintaining initial books of account, ledgers and journals
Performing periodic reconciliations
Ensuring proper filing of documents for easy retrieval
Perform any other duties as may be reasonably assigned

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
The ideal candidate for the Infectious Diseases Institute (IDI) Cashier should preferably hold a Degree / diploma in Accounting or in Business Administration or Finance / Financial Management (majoring in Accounting)
At least level one of any Accounting professional course
Practical knowledge in any Accounting package preferably NAV MS Dynamics is added advantage
