Proposal Objective:
Social Impact is preparing a proposal response for the anticipated multi-million dollar, five-year Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) Contract in Uganda. The purpose of the Contract is to strengthen the performance of USAID/Uganda and its Implementing Partners (IPs) in collaborating, learning and adapting in order to improve the relevance, quality and sustainability of USAID-supported contributions to Uganda’s development.
Position Description:
SI is seeking a Director of Finance and Administration (DFA) to oversee financial management, procurement, logistical, human resources, recruitment and administrative support to the project team, and ensure activities are carried out in a manner consistent with the objectives of the project, and in compliance with USAID regulations and SI policies and procedures. This position will be based in Uganda. The DFA will serve as a core team member on a full-time basis throughout the five-year period of performance.
Please note: This is a local position. Only candidates with Ugandan citizenship will be considered.
Responsibilities:
· Ensure the integrity and usefulness of contractor financial systems.
· Facilitate the contractor’s internal administrative operations.
· Ensure that the project and SI’s work meet USAID/Uganda programmatic, financial and other reporting requirements.
· Deliver the “performance” results to USAID and the contractor.
Qualifications:
· Advanced degree in public administration, business, financial management, or another relevant field required.
· Five years of direct experience of training and improving business processes in development organizations.
· Five years of experience managing staff in providing services relevant to training and organizational development.
· Preferably, three years’ experience living and working in developing country environments, preferably East Africa.
· Quality past performance references relevant to the position.
