Dispenser – Kampala – Bank of Uganda

About BOU:
The Bank of Uganda (BoU) is the Central Bank of the Republic of Uganda. It was opened on the 15th August 1966. It is 100% owned by the Government of Uganda but it is not a government Department. Bank of Uganda conducts all its activities in close association with the Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic Development (MoFPED). Bank of Uganda is responsible for monetary policy and maintaining price stability.

Job Summary: The Dispenser will provide an accurate, timely and qualitative dispensing service to the patients at the Bank of Uganda staff clinic.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Ensures that all drugs prescribed by doctors are dispensed in a timely and accurate manner.
Guides the Dispenser in Charge on necessary inventory positions to maintain adequate stocks in store.
Actively participates in making (online) requisitions for the replenishment of stock, and receiving supplies in the main drugs store.
Participates in all (quarterly and annual) stocktaking exercises.
Updates and maintains a record of drugs dispensed.
Participates in the preparation of work plans and budgets for the section
Identifies risk within the section, propose mitigating measures and report regularly
Perform any other duties as requested by the Medical Department/Bank

Key Performance Indicators:
Record of drugs required for purchase
Accountability reports for drugs dispensed
Record of patients served per day.
Adequately stocked main drugs store
Regular reconciliation reports for the various IT systems used in the drugs/sundries management process.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
The ideal candidate for the Bank of Uganda job opportunity should hold a Diploma in Pharmacy from a recognized Institution
The applicants must possess valid registration with the Uganda Allied Health Professionals Council
At least six years’ experience in a busy and reputable institution as a dispenser.
Computer literacy skills
Working knowledge of use of computerized purchased and inventory software will be an added advantage
Keen attention to detail
High degree of maturity and confidentiality
Good team player
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Possess a high level of transparency and integrity
High degree of accountability
Ethical Behavior
Customer orientation skills
Age: 30-35 years
