Job Summary: The Finance & Administration Manager will oversee the finance and administration functions, which include procurement, IT, Assets management, logistics and HR management. The incumbent will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of technical efforts and field activities to facilitate the implementation of program activities according to PI and donor rules & regulations, standard operating procedures and good business practices. S/he prepares financial reports, develops budgets, manages grants and maintains financial systems. The job holder will also be in charge of capacity building of staff and timely performance management. S/he will ensure compliance with key donor requirements.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
· The ideal candidate should preferably hold a Master’s degree in BA or Accounting or finance and professional certification as a CPA, ACCA or similar.
· At least ten years’ experience in financial and contracts/ grants management, with five years senior-level responsibility for project administration and finance.
· Proven expertise in finance, accounting and auditing, including automated financial systems, grants compliance & management, establishment of internal controls.
· Significant work experience with projects supported by international organizations and donors.
· Demonstrated success managing large programs through development of cost-efficient budgeting, management of, appropriate spending to support project impact, and regular monitoring of financials for programmatic revisions and accurate, timely reporting
· Demonstrated ability to function effectively with multiple host-country counterparts in both the public and NGO sectors.
· Proven ability to manage, motivate and mentor staff at all levels and create a positive team environment.
· Excellent analytical, problem solving and computer skills.
· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
· Impeccably integrity, patience, tact, mature judgment
· Strong negotiating skills.
· Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities and multiple deadlines.
· Ability and willingness to travel In-country, regionally as well as to the US Headquarters
