Finance and Administration Officer – Kampala – Belgian Development Agency

About BTC:
BTC, the Belgian Development Agency, together with different Government Ministries, are implementing the bilateral cooperation between Uganda & Belgium.

Job Summary: The Finance and Administration Officer will be responsible for a variety of administrative and finance-related tasks.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
The incumbent will be tasked with the preparation of bank payments
Intuitively check and encode accounting transactions
Ensure the timely accounting closing every month
Expeditiously follow up on advances
Ensure the proper filing of all accounting documents
Make follow up of contracts, commitments and public procurements
He / she will be in charge of preparing the monthly payroll
Follow up on insurances and legal litigations
Actively monitor cash positions
Perform financial analysis and ad-hoc studies
Perform accountability checks on the contracts with Local Governments

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
The applicant should possess a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance and/or administration or related field ACCA, CPA, CIMA or similar is an added advantage
At least five years’ experience in accounting, preferably in a similar position
Working knowledge of and experience with tax related matters in Uganda
Previous experience with an international organization or NGO experience is an added advantage
Computer literacy skills i.e. proficiency in Microsoft Excel and word is essential
Past experience working with Local Government and Ministries is an added advantage
Excellent communication skills and a good team player
Ability to work independently and under stressful conditions
