About US:
Northern Uganda Youth Development Centre (NUYDC) was established through a partnership between the Government of Uganda (Represented by the Office of the Prime Minister) and the Commonwealth Secretariat with the aim of empowering the Youth of Northern Uganda who were affected and afflicted by the Lord’s Resistance Army Conflict. The focus was mainly on the Youth who missed out on education and had no skills for employment in the job market. NUYDC will help improve the socio-economic livelihoods of the youth of Northern Uganda through knowledge based and demand oriented vocational training, help them gain dignity, acceptable standard of living and enhance their integration within the Communities.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
· Actively participate in budget preparation, management and control including the preparation of payment schedules.
· Prepare and submit all Centre financial reports and other documentation according to agree upon funders guidelines
· Support the Director to manage the Centre budget in line with set policies and guidelines
· Ensure proper management and maintenance of Centre assets i.e. furniture, fixtures fittings, vehicles computers, motorcycles etc including those used by satellite center’s
· Management of Centre vehicles and motorcycles including fuel and cost controls
· Proper management of asset registers i.e. regular update, insurance, disposal, planning and proper utilization
· Perform any other tasks as may be assigned by the Director
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
· The applicants must be Ugandans holding honours degrees from recognized Universities in any of the following: B COM, Business Administration with Accounting/Finance Management
· Professional qualification in accounting like CPA, ACCA of level III or any other accountancy professional body is a MUST.
· Proven leadership & communication skills
· Detailed working knowledge in accountability for use of public resources, including familiarity with financial management procedures of the Government of Uganda.
· Broad knowledge and understanding of private sector skills needs.
· Previous experience of managing Multi-Donor Funded projects.
· Age: Above 30 years
