Finance Officer – Kampala – Raising Voices

About Raising Voices:
Raising Voices works to prevent interpersonal violence that happens in the home, in the communities and within institutions that community members use on a regular basis. Our work is organized into two departments; prevention of violence against women (VAW) and prevention of violence against children (VAC).

Job Summary: The Raising Voices Finance Officer will be responsible for keeping accurate record of all day to day financial transactions of Raising Voices. The incumbent will be involved in executing all procedures for requisitions, disbursement and accounting for the funds on a day to day basis.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for generating serialized payment vouchers for all approved payments based on the QuickBooks accounting system
Ensure that all source documents are properly supported as per the finance policy guidelines before capture in the system
In charge of the preparation of documentation required for proper and timely execution of finance requisitions and disbursements for all Raising Voices activities.
Regularly review of accountability submissions by program staff before forwarding to the Finance Manager for final review and sign off.
Responsible for the disbursement of released program activity funds to respective staffs and external vendors.
Assemble financial information requested by the Finance Manager during the preparation of Financial Reports for Raising Voices.
Actively support in the review of monthly reports from the Key Partner Organizations

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
The Finance Officer should possess a good degree in Business Administration, Finance, Commerce, Management or related field.
Possess part qualification in professional studies such as CPA, ACCA, is necessary
A minimum of three or more years’ experience in managing finance of a reputable organization.
Computer literacy skills in key accounting software i.e. QuickBooks and Microsoft Office Suite particularly Excel and Word.
Possess the ability to maintain filing and administrative system of the organization
Efficient and meticulous at storing and transmitting financial information
Quick thinker and fast learner, with ability to maintain confidentiality
