Internal Auditor – Fort Portal – Mountains of the Moon University

About US:
Mountains of the Moon University was established in 2005 as not for profit community university whose ownership is expressed through the various representative communities which include, the districts, municipalities ,religious communities and the business communities of the Rwenzori region.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
The incumbent will evaluate and test the reliability, integrity of financial operating information and adequacy of internal controls of audit.
Deter or detect opportunities for fraud, waste and abuse of resources.
Make sure that there is compliance with policies, plans, procedures, laws and regulations and contract provisions.
Carry out special investigations into particular areas where need be as directed by Vice Chancellor.
Routinely examine and review the risk management for the achievement of University goals.
Guard against the risk of significant financial loss arising from accounting errors, inaccurate cash flow projections, errors in management and statutory requirements.
Manage the audit function activities to ensure that the work is accurate, sufficient and in compliance with applicable standards policies.
Audit movable and non-movable assets of the University including personnel.
Perform any other duties assigned by the higher authority.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
The ideal candidate for the Internal Auditor placement should hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce, Business Administration, or equivalent
At least Level 2 of professional training (CPA,ACCA)
At least two years’ of auditing experience
