Key Duties and Responsibilities:
In charge of developing the internal audit strategy and supervising its implementation;
Responsible for developing internal audit policies, rules, standards, manuals, circulars and guidelines;
In charge of reviewing and consolidating audit reports from the votes and externally;
Working closely with the Auditor General, Accountant General, Accounting Officers and Internal Auditors on audit matters;
In charge of consolidating the reports of all the Audit Committees on the respective votes;
Periodically evaluating the effectiveness of Audit Committees of the respective votes;
Facilitating the development of the Internal Audit cadres;
Providing evidence to the relevant Parliamentary oversight Committees when required to do so;
Perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
The applicant for the Internal Auditor General job opportunity should be a Ugandan who is a fully qualified Accountant and full Member for at least fifteen (15) years of the institute of Chartered Public Accountants of Uganda ICPA (U) or a body recognized by the ICPA (U).
Possession of relevant additional qualifications such as Master’s Degree in Management will be an added advantage.
A minimum of twelve years working experience, three (3) of which at a level of Commissioner/Internal Audit or Accounts in Government or an equivalent level of relevant experience from a reputable Organisation.
Age: Above 35 years

Hand written applications are also acceptable.
Application forms should bear the title of the post followed by the Reference Number specified against the vacancy. The appropriate Advert Title e.g. “PSC External Advert. No. 1/2016” should be indicated in capital letters on the top of each first page of the Public Service Form No. 3 (2008). Applicants should attach three sets of photocopies of their certificates and testimonials. Applicants subsequently shortlisted for oral interviews shall be required to present certified copies and originals of their academic transcripts and certificates at the time of sitting the Oral Interviews and their names will be shown on the PSC website and on the PSC noticeboard.
