Internal Auditor – Kampala – Dairy Development Authority

About Us:
Dairy Development Authority (DDA) is a semi- autonomous agency under the Ministry of Agriculture, Animal Industry and Fisheries (MAAIF). It is established under the Dairy Industry Act of 1998. Its mission is “To provide dairy development and regulatory services that will ensure increased production and consumption of milk, sustainable and profitable dairy sector, contribute to economic development and improved nutritional standards in Uganda”.

Job Summary: The Internal Auditor will render support by carrying out an independent appraisal of the effectiveness of policies, procedures and standards by which DDA’s financial, physical assets and information resources are managed.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
· In charge of ensuring that financial and other transactions of the Authority are in compliance with established policies, procedures, principles and plans.
· Responsible for auditing stocks and stocks movement of all commodities and supplies to ensure compliance with authority policies.
· Ensuring that all records and ledger accounts are checked and certified.
· Regularly checking and verifying that all transactions are properly documented and have adequate, accurate, reliable underlying evidence.
· Conducting regular field visits, surprise audits and spot checks in all areas of the Authority as may be requested by head of Audit.
· Following up contracts which involve the commitment of funds to ensure that implementation is in accordance with contract terms.
· Perform any other duties as assigned from time to time.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
· The ideal candidate should hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce/ Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Finance or Business Administration majoring in Accounting or other related fields.
· A minimum of two years of relevant audit experience in a relatively large organization.
· Professional certifications i.e. at least Level II in ACCA,CPA etc is an added advantage
· Capability and willingness to take responsibility and highly developed sense of integrity.
· Ready to comply and live in accordance with Authority’s policies and core values.
· Highly computer literate.
