About Dfcu:
Dfcu Bank is a fast growing commercial bank offering a variety of innovative products and services. DFCU Limited was started by the Commonwealth Development Corporation (CDC) of the United Kingdom and the Government of Uganda through the Uganda Development Corporation (UDC) under the name of Development Finance Company of Uganda Limited. Later restructuring brought in DEG (of Germany) and International Finance Corporation (IFC) as equal partners with CDC and UDC, each having a 25% stake in the company. Its objective was to support long-term development projects whose financing needs and risk did not appeal to the then existing financial commercial lending institutions.
Job Summary: The Learning and Development Manager will be responsible for achieving high performance standards of all employees in the bank through development and implementation of comprehensive and cost effective training and development solutions.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
· Steer culture initiatives within the bank and manage the team based performance programs across all competencies.
· Oversee change management in liaison with the functional heads.
· Initiate and prepare an annual training calendar and manage the training administration.
· Carry out induction sessions and arrange on-the job training for new hires and existing staff within established budgets as well as develop online training modules for staff.
· Work closely with functional heads to identify training needs and design cost effective interventions in line with business demands.
· Keenly analyse training needs to develop new training programs or modify and improve existing programs.
· Design training manuals and conduct on-going training for employees.
· Evaluate the performance of the trainers and the effectiveness of training programs.
· Actively formulate and manage the training and development budget.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
· The applicant should preferably hold a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business related field or Education from a reputable University. Possession of a post graduate in Human Resource Management is an added advantage.
· At least four years’ experience in a training function in a busy work environment.
· Exceptional people skills with ability to influence others.
· Show commitment to achievement of objectives.
· Excellent interpersonal, communication, negotiation and time management skills.
· Excellent planning, organizing and coordinating skills.
· Working knowledge of HR Administration practice.
· Possess the ability to initiate new ideas and practices and to carry them forward.
· Detailed knowledge and understanding of the HR policies and procedures and ability to interpret them to employees.
· Knowledge of the banking industry.
