Manager Internal Audit – Kampala – BRAC International

BRAC International is one of the world’s largest Non-Governmental Development Organizations, working in a number of countries in Africa and Asia on poverty alleviation Programs, is registered in Uganda as BRAC Uganda. The organization implements integrated development approach combining Education, Health, Agriculture, Livestock, Adolescent Empowerment and Microfinance.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Conduct Audit and supervise Audit Officials activities to ensure that audit engagements are conducted as per Annual Internal Audit Plan.
Keenly review and finalize Internal Audit Report and submit it to Head of Audit to dispatch.
The incumbent will also prepare and submit various summary reports to management.
Work closely with other parties in order to perform audit work, including developing and maintaining effective stakeholder relationships
Manage all aspects of audit activities, including but not limited to risk assessments, audit planning, testing, control evaluation, report drafting, work paper documentation, tracking and responding to issues effectively.
Prepare and submit clear and concise reports, communicate effectively in writing and orally; maintain objectivity and impartiality
Produce clearly written Summary of Issues reports and draft Audit Reports and communicate findings and recommendations
Build and nurture relationships with key stakeholders and maintain a thorough knowledge of the business and regulatory environment

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
The ideal candidate must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration (BBA)/ Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com), Finance & Accounting or a related field; Candidates with MBA/ Masters in Commerce in Finance & Accounting with related field will get preference.
Professional Certification (Qualified) in ACCA/ CPA
At least three years’ experience in a Managerial or Head position in Audit related field
High degree of integrity
Excellent communication skills
Broad knowledge of Audit Standards, Procedures, Laws, Rules, Regulations
Extensive Computer skills including MS Office, advanced Excel and PowerPoint proficiency
Excellent report writing and analytical
Good problem solving skills
