Project Finance and Administration Officer – Kampala – Makerere University MasterCard Foundation (MCF) Scholars Program

Job Summary: The Project Finance and Administration Officer will support the Project Manager & Finance Manager in the financial Management of the MCF Scholars Program, in accordance with the University Finance Manual and the MCF financial regulations.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
In charge of preparing cheques, vouchers and ensure timely facilitation for all project activities.
Keenly track expenditures against budgets and ensure that the expenditures are incurred in accordance with the contract.
Oversee and monitor finance documents movement between the relevant stages of verification and approval &Input of primary data in the Accounting system.
Render support in the preparation of annual budgets, quarterly financial reports.
Ensure timely accountability of the project funds
Perform any other duties as assigned from time to time by the Project Finance Manager

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
The ideal candidate should preferably hold an Honour’s degree in Commerce (Accounting, Business Administration or any other related field from recognised institution.
Possession of professional qualification such as ACCA will be an added advantage.
A minimum of three years’ experience in managing project funds.
Past exposure and experience working in a university/education institution environment will be an added advantage.
Excellent interpersonal and communications skills
Good working knowledge of accounting software packages
Computer literacy i.e. proficient in the use of Microsoft Office.
