The Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation (EGPAF) seeks to end pediatric HIV/AIDS through research, advocacy, and prevention and treatment programs. We are a global leader in the fight against pediatric HIV and AIDS, working in 15 countries and at 7,000 sites around the world to prevent the transmission of HIV to children, and to help those already infected. Today, because of the highly successful work of the Foundation and its partners over the last 25 years, pediatric AIDS has been virtually eliminated in the United States and new infections in children have declined by 51% worldwide. EGPAF Uganda Country program is currently implementing a number of projects in partnership with various donors.
Job Summary: The EGPAF Senior Finance Officer will be responsible for preparing financial statements, maintaining cash controls, preparing the payroll, maintaining accounts payable and managing office Finance operations.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Prepare and submit the monthly financial accounting and management reports on time.
Receives fully approved staff timesheets, prepares payroll (including individual staff pay slips) and completes the Payroll Allocation Spreadsheet
Prepares and remits monthly statutory payments.
Offer timely support to field finance staff, and work closely with them to ensure that financial information is accurate and up to date.
Prepares monthly bank reconciliation and supporting documentation.
Regularly reviews petty cash reconciliation, prepares petty cash replenishment, and performs periodic petty cash checks.
Receives ‘expense reports and advance requests from staff members and performs initial review for accuracy and completeness
Keenly tracks vacation and severance accrual in consultation with the HR manager
Assists the Finance Manager to prepare budgets, monthly budget performance reports, and monthly forecasts.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
The Senior Finance Officer should possess a good Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, with a professional accountancy qualification
At least four years of accounting experience in a reputable organization preferably an International NGO with multi-donor grants
Previous experience in managing US government-funds is essential
Computer literacy skills and working knowledge of QuickBooks Pro
Strong team player with proven communication and collaborative skills.
