Grain Marketing Manager – Kampala – AFGRI

Job Summary: The Grain Marketing Manager will lead the marketing of the organization, enable the company to become a market leader in the East African region, and represent AFGRI on all issues surrounding trading and marketing of grain.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Sell company’s grain products by establishing contact and. developing relationships with prospects, recommending solutions;
Identify business opportunities by identifying prospects and evaluating their position in the industry; researching and analyzing sales options;
Develop a marketing business plan aligned t& the overall strategy;
Oversee and implement the marketing plan to achieve profitability targets set per product; Develop pricing strategies with the goal of maximizing the company’s profits and market share – ensure company profitability through correct pricing policies and product costing;
Prepare and review monthly profit & loss for department and report to senior management;
Manage the setting of sales and marketing forecasts and follow up to ensure they are achieved as well as reporting on performance;
Carry out accurate analysis of marketing information, both internal and external, for effective negotiations and decision-making;
Establish and maintain good corporate relations and implement a customer care management programs to ensure brand protection;
Regularly analyze and track grain trading trends and Identify new opportunities for the company;
Conduct periodic market intelligence and oversee research and make recommendations to improve marketing and trading base;
Map existing grain trading routes and establish potential trading routes for maize grain.
Provide grain monitoring tools to check grain movement, volumes of trade/sales, and trade routes.
Ensure high levels of the visibility in the market;

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
The applicant should have experience and demonstrated success in marketing and trading that will enhance AFGRI’s trading efforts at the East African level.
The ideal candidate will be a strategic marketing thinker with excellent implementation skills in marketing, a superior communicator, and an inclusive marketing leader with a solid understanding of the grain related value chains primarily for the East African Region.
For this Position, the skills required could have been developed through on the job training, previous work experience in other related trading and marketing roles from the private sector.
