Job Summary: The Marketing Officer will provide support to develop a strong brand awareness within the country to promote positive perceptions of menstrual hygiene and washable pads and to increase sales of the DfG Kit products.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Developing and following an annual marketing strategy and work plan
Recruiting marketing & sales representatives to work on a contract, commission basis
Implementing grassroots marketing strategies including drama troupes
Fostering presence in traditional media outlets including print & radio
Supporting a strong, engaging online presence via social media
Tracking progress towards sales targets & reporting on milestones
The Marketing Officer may also help with administrative tasks and field visits to Days for Girls projects throughout the country.
Seek opportunities for DfG visibility such as conferences, events, and workshops
Support the development & implementation of a grassroots marketing plan
Provide training for team members in effective sales strategies
Update social media with testimonials, stories, and photos
Provide training for staff members on how to conduct effective social media
Operations Responsibilities:
Submit monthly work plans tied back to annual marketing strategy
Submit Quarterly Reports on departmental progress
Submit requisitions for marketeer payments & logistical costs
Develop & present budgets for specific marketing activities
Analysis return on investment for marketing activities
Provide on the ground logistical and informational support to the Center team
Attend regular check-in meetings with Supervisor (once per week) to assess progress on goals
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
The ideal candidate for the Days for Girls Marketing Officer job opportunity must hold a Bachelor’s Degree or diploma in related field
Excellent interpersonal communication skills
Strong written & analytical skills
Previous experience creating and sticking to budgets
Previous experience in marketing & media
Ability to juggle multiple projects at once
Empowering leadership skills
Computer literacy skills i.e. proficiency in Microsoft Suite, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
Graphic design experience is desirable (proficiency in design software such as Adobe Suite)
