About USAID RHITES-E Project:
IntraHealth International will implement the USAID RHITES-E which supports the Government of Uganda (GOU) and key stakeholders to increase availability and utilization of high quality health services in 21 districts in Eastern Uganda and 2 in Karamoja by strengthening health systems and improving the quality of, access to, and demand for health services with attention to equity and underserved populations. IntraHealth International in collaboration with the District Service Commissions of Mbale, Moroto, Kaabong, Abim, Nakapiripirit and Kotido are currently seeking to recruit candidates for a USAID Activity USAID Regional Health Integration to Enhance Services in Eastern Uganda (RHITES-E) will support the Government of Uganda (GOU) and key stakeholders to increase availability and utilization of high quality health services in 23 districts in Eastern Uganda and 2 in Karamoja. This will be done by strengthening health systems and improving the quality of, access to, and demand for health services with attention to equity and underserved populations

Job Summary: The Assistant Nursing Officer will mainly provide nursing services and public health Interventions to patients and the community.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Receiving patients, register admissions, discharges and deaths.
Providing Nursing Care services to patients.
Keeping patients comfortable and ensure a health environment.
Preparing and carrying out sterile procedures.
Participating in bedside nursing procedures as a member of the caring team.
Participating in Doctors/Clinical Officers Ward rounds.
Managing and accounting for allocated resources.
Participating in research activities.
Imparting knowledge and skills to students and staff.
Adhering to Professional Code of Conduct and Ethics.
Compiling daily clinic reports and hand over to incoming shift
Performing any other related duties assigned by the supervisor

Key Performance Indicators:
Quality nursing care services to patients provided.
HIV Clinic activities organized and managed.
Accountability for financial and other resources produced.
Nurse Counselor staff performance appraisal done.
Daily reports submitted.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
The ideal candidate for the USAID Project job placement must be trained at registered level or its equivalent from a recognized Institution.
Must be registered with the Nurses and Midwives Council.
