About US:
Institute of Certified Public Accountants (ICPAU) is the national professional accountancy body in Uganda, established by the Accountants Act. The Institute also has a mandate to conduct professional accountancy examinations in Uganda. The Institute is mandated to also:
· Regulate and maintain the Standard of Accountancy in Uganda.
· Prescribe and regulate the conduct of accountants and practising accountants in Uganda.
Job Summary: The Assistant Technical Officer will be responsible for assisting the Technical Officer in executing the technical function of the Institute. The Assistant Technical Officer is a key member of the ICPAU team and is expected to understand, support, and promote the objectives of the Technical Department.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
· Support in handling technical issues related to the Accountancy Profession.
· Actively participate in the quality assurance programme of the Institute.
· Support the execution of the Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Programme.
· Render support in the development and preparation of technical materials.
· Build and strengthen working relationships with the Institute’s stakeholders.
· Actively participate in conducting research in accountancy and related areas.
· Take part in the running of the Institute’s events and functions.
· Perform other administrative duties as may be assigned from time to time.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
· The applicant should hold a Professional Accountancy Qualification. Possession of a degree is an added advantage.
· A minimum of two years’ experience in auditing or any other field of accountancy.
· Working knowledge of professional standards and excellent writing skills.
· Excellent communication and computer skills;
· Strong leadership and interpersonal skills;
· Be team builders/players;
· Excellent analytical and problem solving skills;
· Be creative, innovative, adaptable and have a passion for quality.
· Excellent command of the English language (both spoken and written);
