JOB PURPOSE:
Reporting to the Brand and Advertising Manager, the role holder will support the execution of Brand, product, and segment marketing plans to achieve the stated objectives. He/she conducts market research to forecast upcoming market trends. He/she works in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. He/she champions the brand identity throughout the organisation.
LOCATION: Kampala
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
• Execute the activities stipulated in the marketing plan to deliver the objectives.
• Execute all marketing and advertising activity in line with brand strategy and corporate guidelines.
• Day to day management of external agencies for so that activities are to cost and within the agreed timescales.
• Handle communication between Marketing and the Business function for effective execution of the agreed activity plan.
• Monitor and report marketing expenditure to ensure spend does not exceed that authorized within the budget.
• Rigorously analyze and report marketing research data to ensure brand issues are understood and corrective action identified.
• Examine the market and media trends to improve the execution of marketing activities.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of marketing campaigns to identify and implement opportunities for improvement.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, AND COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:
• Bachelors’ degree in marketing or a business-related field.
• Standard office ICT skills including Digital.
• The jobholder must be able to demonstrate an interest in and awareness of consumer insights, brand strategy execution and ATL/BTL communication.
• The principal skills required are in thinking/operating strategically, making things happen and communication/interpersonal skills.
• Tech and social media savvy.
• Data-driven approach.
• Regular contact with Business Segment Heads is critical.
• Market/customer visits will be important in gaining an insight into brand performance.
• Ability to prioritise a key business initiative to deliver planned objectives.
• Demonstrates the ability to take responsibility for the Brand.
• Willingness to work extra hours as and when required to meet business requirements.
• Ability to work independently.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
