Job Summary: The Business Service Center (BSC) Assistant Manager will perform operations and strategic management of the Business Service Centre (BSC) functions and activities. The BSC Assistant Manager is principally responsible to plan, organize and oversee all BSC operations including the supervision of staff and the coordination of work activities. The position is also responsible for promoting the EFC branding and raising community awareness regarding the products and services available to fulfill the target market needs.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Ensure business growth, a consistent achievement of established business targets and overall BSC portfolio management;
Foster the development of a strong customer relationship culture to facilitate the consultative sale of EFC products and services and the identification and exploitation of business opportunities;
The incumbent will install a business philosophy and orient employees in the EFC vision, mission, values and objectives through appropriate supervision, coaching and skills development and appreciative acknowledgement of their efforts;
Advance the principles of “positive change management” without business disruption in areas such as the integration of new products and services, implementation of new approaches or the usage of new tools and methodologies;
Oversee and ensure sound security management practices (i.e. customer identification, onsite physical security measures etc.);
Ensure the integrity of financial and accounting data;
Take lead and perform initiatives to ensure continuous process improvement for the benefit of all EFC stakeholders (i.e. employees, customers and shareholders/donors etc.).
Create and maintain a sale and service culture within the BSC;
Lead a highly-motivated, well trained team that constantly offers excellent service to customers;
Provide effective and efficient day-to-day leadership and BSC management so as to consistently achieve established targets;
Actively participate in the development of the BSC activities and business plan and oversee its implementation and follow-up;
Mobilize BSC personnel according to the objectives of EFC with an enabling and customer centric skills development and capacity building approach;
Develop approaches and activities to maximize customer satisfaction, profitability of operations and risk management;
Regularly review and ensure application of policies, procedures and internal controls relevant to the scope of authority and accountability of the position and submit appropriate improvement plans and strategies for consideration and approval as required;
Ensure effective overall management of BSC human, financial and material resources;
Provide BSC performance analysis and status reports (i.e. financial and product / service sales indicators) as required.
Preparing summary reports for monthly Manager’s Meetings relative to BSC results and actions required;
Submitting recommendations regarding objectives, policies and BSC action plans as deemed required;
Tasked with managing all internal and external communications in collaboration with the EFC Marketing & Communications Department;
Managing the employee performance process (individual and group) through team leadership and motivation;
Applying effective internal control systems and measures and ensuring sound management of all BSC control registers;
Supervising and controlling all BSC operations including security, lending / financial and accounting activities;
Identifying financial services needs in the community leading savings mobilization initiatives;
Work closely with the Internal Auditor by providing all data / documentation required to enable the performance of the internal audit mandate;
Performance of any other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
The applicant must hold a Diploma or Degree in Business Management, Economics, Management or related studies;
At least three years of relevant experience, preferably in the financial services sector;
Broad knowledge of microfinance specific to MSE markets would be a definite asset;
Background in staff management including leadership, skills development and coaching;
Strong people / relationship skills with a customer sales and service orientation;
Strong computer skills (Word, Excel, Power Point, database, etc.);
Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
The incumbent should have good practical knowledge of business operations and human resource management in the financial services sector and the foresight to see how the intricate day-to-day activities link with and support the achievement of the vision and mission of the EFC
