The Uganda Registration Services Bureau (URSB) is established as a Statutory Body under the Uganda Registration Services Bureau Act Cap. 210, Laws of Uganda 2000 Edition. The Bureau is a key player in commercial and civil registrations that facilitate private sector development and vital statistics for national planning.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Keeps track of received data and source documents.
In charge of preparing and sorting source documents, and identifies and interprets data to be entered.
Contacts preparers of source documents to resolve questions, inconsistencies, or missing data.
Enters alphabetic, numeric, or symbolic data from source documents into computer following format displayed on screen, and enters necessary codes.
Confirms accuracy of data.
Compares data entered with source documents, or re-enters data in verification format on screen to detect errors.
Regularly reviews and makes necessary corrections to information entered.
Compiles, sorts, and verifies accuracy of data to be entered.
Processes various forms.
Renders support in establishing and maintaining an effective and efficient records management system.
Compile and submit reports and responds to inquiries regarding entered data as requested.
Contributes to a team effort and accomplishes related results as required.
Maintains confidential information
Perform any other job related duties as assigned.

Computerized data index maintained.
Quality assurance done.
Searches conducted.
Backup copies prepared.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
The Data Entry Clerk should hold an Honors Degree in Computer Science/ Information Technology.
A minimum of two years’ experience in a busy and corporate environment or a combination of education, training, and experience which provides the desired knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the position’s essential duties and responsibilities.
Additional training in a professional IT field is desirable and will be an added advantage.
Computer operation skills in database maintenance
Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
Working knowledge of assigned program activities guidelines and processes
Possess the ability to operate various work-processing software, spreadsheets, and database programs.
High level of confidentiality.
Interact and maintain good working relationships with individuals of varying social and cultural backgrounds.
Communicate efficiently and effectively both verbally and in writing.
Carry out multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
Ability to follow instructions furnished in verbal or written format.
Detail oriented.
