Job Summary:
Database Assistant: As a member of the MEAL team the Database Assistant will be based out of Moroto and will report to the Geospatial/Digital Visualization Officer. The database assistant will be responsible for the management of the MEAL systems database as well as supporting the team through its relevant Information Communication Technology for Development (ICT4D) needs. The Database Assistant is expected to start a few months after project start-up and end a few months before project closeout to align with the project timeline.

Job Responsibilities:
• Provide technical support to requests from the DFSA staff team in relation to MEAL systems database and ICT4D hardware, software and associated peripherals.
• Log support requests and document their outcome to facilitate the resolution of common queries.
• Proactively provide information to the staff team on the progress of outstanding support enquiries.
• Delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate technical teams and coordinate and monitor their efforts throughout the implementation process to ensure consistent uptake and utilization of the ICT4D system.
• Work with CRS stakeholders to define the scope, goals and deliverables of appropriate ICT4D initiatives.
Typical Background, Experience & Requirements:
Education and Experience
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in Statistics, Information Management or related area;
• Minimum 1 to 2 years of experience in database management working with humanitarian and development assistance, preferably with an international NGO;
• Experience in database management using Microsoft Access, SQL Server and Excel required;
• Experience in creating data visualization dashboards (e.g. Reporting services, Access, Zoho Reports, Dundas
Dashboards, PowerBI);
• Have experience working with ICT4D in MEAL system (e.g. iFormBuilder) preferred;
• Able to work under pressure and to manage competing priorities;
• Have the capacity to establish priorities with the aim of meeting expectations with integrity;
• Demonstrated proactive nature in resolving problems;
• Flexibility to work both in a team and independently;
• Cultural sensitivity, patience and flexibility;
• Demonstrated personal accountability and driven to serve others;
• Excellent English language oral and written communication skills;
• Experience working in a variety of developing environments required;
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) required;
• Excellent, proactive communications and coordination skills essential;

Required Foreign Language: English and Karimojong
Required Travel: Extensive travels within Karamoja; 40-50% within DFSA implementation areas
