Job : DEPUTY SUPPLY CHAIN COORDINATOR_FRONT OFFICE
Duty station: KAMPALA
Contract Type: FULL TIME Start of work: ASAP

Main responsibilities:
The Deputy Supply Chain Coordinator front office coordinates the day- to-day supply chain operations at SUKA. As such he/she is accountable for ensuring that the Transport & Custom, Procurement, Warehousing and Stock Management functions are carried out with a strong focus on responding to the needs of our stakeholders and especially MSF teams and MSF field operations.
The objective of this position is to ensure that SUKA supply chain provide value adding services to the movement. The DCSC Front Office will do so by building capacity within the supply team and a strong collaboration with the other stakeholders.

Main Responsibilities include but not limited to:
Strategic planning and continuous improvement:
1. Collaborate with the SUKA team and HQ Supply Unit to the definition of the hub supply strategy.
2. Ensure the continuous implementation of improvement initiatives and changes to supply internal processes, services and products delivered by SUKA with the purpose of eliminating problems, waste, inefficiencies, bottlenecks and raising quality, level of service and satisfaction of our clients (MSF field operations)
Supply day-to-day operations planning and implementation:
1. Plan, coordinate and ensure the implementation of the day-to-day supply activities of the hub in line with MSF internal standards and procedures and the national legislation as established by the HCA between MSF and the Government of Uganda. Align SUKA day-to- day supply chain operations to the OCG, SNEA (Supply Network East Africa) and SUKA supply chain strategies and objectives.
2. Ensure good coordination within the supply team and with the concerned partners (suppliers, clients) to avoid silo work and task orientation, favouring teamwork, problem-solving attitude, and result orientation.
3. Adapt SUKA supply chain services to the requirements of regular vs emergency operations: this may include adjusting/developing/ customizing processes, tools, skillsets, capacity, partnerships, HR plans etc. Develop a system that is agile and easily scalable.
People’s Management and leadership
1. Lead, train, and mentor the team, mobilize resources, assess workloads and HR set up and address gaps by coordinating recruitments, trainings, and performance evaluations and setting/ aligning personal objectives and career development plans accordingly.

Experiences, Skills and Competencies Required:
Education:
1. Advanced degree in supply chain management, procurement, logistics, or an equivalent essential degree and specialization in Logistics/Supply Chain. Experience:
2. Six years progressive experience in supply chain, procurement, and logistics management in the NGO sector, within complex/large scale country programmes and in emergency response/humanitarian environments.
3. Proven experience in all technical areas of supply chain operations including procurement, logistics, transport/distribution, warehousing and stock management, asset management, communications.
4. Experiencing in managing and supervising others in logistics and procurement functions.
5. Ability to synthesise and analyse information, and make clear, informed decisions Ability to build relationships quickly with a wide range of people, both internally and externally
6. Strong planning, management, and coordination skills, with the ability to organise a substantial workload comprised of complex, diverse tasks and responsibilities Cultural awareness, with strong written and spoken communication and interpersonal skills in English

Languages:
English, Local languages and French is a strong asset
Knowledge:
Computer literacy and good knowledge of MS-Office is important.
