About US:
The Infectious Diseases Institute (IDI) is an international non-profit organization which is a partnership of infectious diseases and public health specialists. The overall objective of the IDI is to strengthen health systems with strong emphasis on Infectious Diseases, through Research and Capacity Development. IDI has five operational areas through which it works to achieve its mission: Prevention, Care and Treatment; Training, Research and Laboratory services (provided through a partnership with the Makerere University – John Hopkins University Core Lab) and Outreach.

About Project:
As part of its comprehensive HIV/AIDS services, the Infectious Diseases Institute (IDI) offers free Voluntary Male Medical Circumcision for HIV prevention in the Mid-Western and West Nile regions of Uganda.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
The Driver will provide safe, comfortable and reliable transportation
Carrying out regular vehicle preventive maintenance as required.
Tasked with maintaining accurate and consistent vehicle documentation for administrative use such as mileage, fuel usage and trip authorization tracking information

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
The applicant for the Driver job opportunity should preferably hold a Diploma or Certificate in any field
A minimum of five years of proven accident free bus/heavy vehicle driving in Uganda, preferably in a reputable institution.
Previous experience of working in a medical setting.
Hold a Valid Uganda class “DM” & or “DH”
Knowledge of basic vehicle mechanics
The incumbent should be courteous and able to quickly respond to emergent situations
