Objective of Consultancy
The Feminist Funding Modalities Consultant will – after fully understanding the feminist funding and partnership principles Raising Voices is seeking in this potential funded cohort – recommend funding modalities (e.g., donor advised fund, pooled fund, etc.) and entities that could lead the funding portion of the cohort, making connections as needed.
General Description of Contract & Responsibilities of Consultant
• Gather information from key Raising Voices staff and documents provided about the funded, feminist cohort, feminist funding principles, and feminist partnership principles.
• Develop a proposed work plan for gathering information and options for the funding modalities that meet the objectives of the funded, feminist SASA! Together cohort.
• Integrate changes and finalize the work plan in collaboration with focal points at Raising Voices.
• Carry out the work plan which may include key informant interviews and document/ desk review elements, etc.
• Make connections as needed making to potential funders and fund managers and/or feminist funds.
• Via a presentation and a short, written document:
• Recommend modalities for the funded, feminist cohort as well as why they were recommended among a wider menu of options.
• Recommend specific fund managers/ feminist funds or other entities that could be potential leaders of the funding portion of the funded cohort. This may include additional key informant interviews and desk review elements.
Deliverables
• Draft work plan.
• Finalized work plan.
• Menu of options for feminist funding modalities and recommendations for the cohort funding modality, with rationale.
• Contact list and document recommending particular fund managers, with rationale.

Duration & Deadlines
• All work to be completed within 3 months of hire, but the exact timeline will depend on the existing connections and knowledge base of the consultant. A calendar of work will be established in detail between Consultant and Raising Voices focal point.
Candidate Profile
• Extensive experience with feminist funding and different potential modalities of funding gender / VAW programming.
• Strong analysis of power dynamics and feminist principles.
• Experience working with a variety of donors.
• Availability and ability to work on a schedule.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
