Job Summary:
The Internal Auditor will provide independent assurance to the Board that the Board’s risk management, governance and internal control processes are operating effectively.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Evaluate internal controls to ascertain audit risks and the appropriateness of risk management policies and procedures.
Prepare the annual audit plan.
Monitor execution of audit programs including routine financial audit; performance audit, IT audit and other special audits.
Collect information and prepare audit working papers
Follow-up implementation of audit recommendations both internal and external
Verify payments and accountabilities to ascertain authenticity and completeness
Compile audit findings and prepare report.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
The applicant must hold an honors bachelor’s degree in either Finance and Accounting, Business Administration/ Commerce with bias in Accounting or Statistics from a recognized institution or Full Professional Qualification in CPA, ACCA or CMA with a Postgraduate qualification in Management.
A Master’s degree in any of the above fields from a recognized Institution
Membership of Institute of Internal Auditors Association (IIA)
Full professional qualifications in either ACCA, CPA, or CRM
At least two years of relevant working experience in a reputable organization in Audit or Finance department
