Natural Resource and Livelihoods Project Manager – Jane Goodall Institute – Hoima

Job Summary:
The Natural Resource and Livelihoods Project Manager will deliver field outreach and conservation duties from the onset of the project i.e. planning, delivery and monitoring of the projects.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Participate in the development of fundraising proposals for JGI programs.
Prepare work plans and performance indicators for the projects.
Organize and facilitate sensitization and awareness campaigns meetings for program activities
Promote community involvement and participation in program activities
Facilitate identification priority needs and supervise implementation of the communal services in villages
Supervise identification and development of alternative livelihood options as prioritized by the target communities
Promote ecotourism and environmental education activities in communities
Prepare and submit activity reports in a timely manner
Drive the formation of community-based organizations and work with the existing ones.
Represent the organization in various forums and workshops.
Participate in donor meetings by preparing and delivering presentations on behalf of JGI.
Carry out any other work as required by the organization.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
Experience: Number of years and nature/type of previous work experience required to perform this job
Five years of doing related work in Forestry and natural resources in an international related conservation organization.
Educational Requirements: The minimum education level required to perform this job
Bachelor of Science in Forestry and any related environmental studies.
Master of Science degree related to Natural resources management, forestry, climate studies, development studies, GIS and remote sensing, management is of added advantage.
