Procurement Officer – Uganda Law Society – Kampala

Job Summary
The Procurement Officer is primarily responsible for the asset inventory. Under the supervision of the Head of Finance and Administration, the Procurement Officer has the responsibility for the management of the daily procurement activities of ULS from the request to the delivery of goods, works and services.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Overseeing and supervising employees and all activities of the purchasing departments.
2. Preparing plans for the purchase of equipment, services, and supplies.
3. Following and enforcing the ULS’s procurement policies and procedures.
4. Reviewing, comparing, analyzing, and approving products and services to be purchased.
5. Managing inventories and maintaining accurate purchase and pricing records.
6. Maintaining and updating supplier information such as qualifications, delivery times, product ranges, etc.
7. Maintaining good supplier relations and negotiating contracts.
8. Researching and evaluating prospective suppliers.
9. Preparing budgets, cost analyses, and reports.
10. Compile weekly, monthly, quarterly and yearly reports.
11. Carry out any other lawful duties as may be assigned by the Chief Executive Officer

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
1. Degree in accounting, business management or a similar field preferred.
2. A minimum of two (2) years of experience as a Procurement Officer or in a similar position.

2. Degree in accounting, business management or a similar field preferred.
3. 2+ years of experience as a procurement officer or in a similar position.
4. Integrity, confidentiality, and the ability to accomplish tasks promptly under minimum supervision.
