Job Summary: The Programme Assistant will support UNICEF in the collection of information, maintenance of records and preparation of documentation and correspondence pertaining to Education programme activities.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
· The incumbent collects data and other information on development of programme activities.
· Maintains, updated manual and electronic database in prescribed format for programme records and for subsequent use.
· Prepares background material, working papers and tables for briefing and review sessions.
· Processes and examines the information and data in accordance with instructions received, making necessary abstracts and computations.
· Conduct specific budget operational/control tasks for activities related to programme implementation in VISION.
· Quickly responds to routine requests or queries and arrange travel for section staff members, as well as follow up to obtain documentations to complete travel file after trip completion.
· Offers administrative/logistics support during meetings/workshops and other operational activities for programme implementation.
· Performs any other duties, as required by the Chief of Fort Portal Office.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
· The ideal candidate for the United Nations UNICEF Programme Assistant career opportunity should have completed secondary education. An added value if supplemented by relevant courses in Business Administration/Management/project administration/ database management.
· A minimum of five years of office experience, including record-keeping and processing of information.
· Fluency in English and another working knowledge of another UN language is an asset.
