Team Member, Trade Operations – United Bank for Africa – Kampala

Job Summary:
To provide excellent customer service delivery of the bank’s banking services through efficient and accurate processing of Trade, Treasury, Local and International transactions in line with Trade and Treasury Operations guidelines and policies.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Efficiently process inward and out ward remittances with in the agreed Turnaround time
Reconcile both internal and Nostro within 48 hours/ Age of open items on reconciliation and timely settlements and reversal of suspense items.
Timely delivery of tender documents for Treasury Bonds and Treasury Bills to Bank of Uganda with authorization to debit the Bank’s account and payment on maturity.
Timely reversal of discounted items on maturity or upon cancellation from the systems as per agreed Service Level Agreement.
Carry out daily update of treasury revaluations rates and appropriate application of rates and maturities in discounting of cheques, invoices and bills of exchange in line with the Bank policies.
Timely submission of Letters of credit and with amendments to the beneficiary within 48 hours.
Timely processing of approved guarantee applications as per Bank guideline.
Accurate transfer/move Foreign exchange deals to specified accounts and banks as per agreed Service Level Agreement.
Accurately account entries for all treasury products in line with Bank guidelines.
Zero balance end of day closure of cash letters with timely follow up on delayed credits.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
The ideal applicant must hold a degree from a recognized university (First and Second class honors) from a reputable University.
At least two (2) year work experience in trade and treasury operations in any financial institution.
Good knowledge of Trade and Treasury Operations regulations in the Banking sector
Good understanding of customer service delivery channels
