The International Organization for Migration (IOM), established in 1951, is the leading international intergovernmental organization dealing with migration. IOM works to help ensure the orderly and humane management of migration, to promote international cooperation on migration issues, to assist in the search for practical solutions to migration problems and to provide humanitarian assistance to migrants in need, including refugees and internally displaced people. The IOM, acting as implementing partner for the European Commission, is seeking to recruit a number of local staff for support functions assigned to the European Union Election Observation Mission (EU EOM) in Uganda.
Job Summary: The Data Analyst Assistant will offer technical support to the Data Analyst in the design of analytical tools for the treatment of key election findings based on observation data collected by observers.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
· The ideal candidate for the IOM Data Analyst Assistant job opportunity should preferably hold a degree in Mathematics, Statistics or related field
· A minimum of three years’ experience (preferably with International Organizations or NGOs in the related field).
· Excellent understanding of statistical software programs
· All candidates should be non-partisan
· Excellent command of both written and spoken English
· Excellent analytical and drafting skills
· Computer literacy i.e. familiar with MS Windows, Excel and Outlook.
· Willingness and flexibility to work in an environment with an intensive workload
· Candidates must be willing to work flexible hours and be able to perform under tight deadlines.
· Candidates should be ready to work under time pressure
