Job Summary:
The Digital Transformation Officer will use research and analysis (often by data) to find changes/opportunities in the market. The role holder will also be responsible for supporting the digital transformation agenda aligning with the business strategy and keeping the bank ahead of competition.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Consult directly with DFCU clients providing advisory services designed to help them solve their most complex business and technology challenges.
Help our clients respond to and embrace market, regulatory, process, and culture changes triggered by emerging digital technologies.
Challenge old business models by innovatively designing new user experiences.
Create the vision for and drive the execution of new products and services.
Construct targeted change management plans including communications planning, change impacts, organizational readiness, and training plans.
Facilitate discussions, surveys, focus groups, and workshops to articulate vision, understand stakeholder needs, and gather input.
Contribute to business development and thought leadership efforts.
Lead programs or work streams within a transformation and / or establish and manage the controls and governance aspects of a transformation.
Help create and drive functional prototypes based on business specifications.
Help define and execute new business concepts in emerging platforms including but not limited to artificial intelligence and voice applications.
Build and develop fintech relationships and develop strategic partnerships with those who share our goal of continuous innovation and breakthrough thinking.
Suggest workable solutions to development teams with consideration for product contract, positioning, and market requirements.
Monitor and analyze market trends; including the studying of competitors’ services and products.
Explore new ways of improving existing services and products as a way of increasing profitability.
Provide product training, relevant clinical papers, printed and electronic promotional material and the necessary technical expertise to sales teams to enable them to sell the product.
Identify and present creative and innovative product solutions.
Interface with development leads to make sure that product requirements are understood.
Coordinate product releases with the marketing, sales, development and service teams and respond to product related inquiries.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
The applicant for the DFCU Bank Digital Transformation Officer job placement must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Computing, Commerce, Accounting or Business Statistics or another related field.
Adept at Financial Technology & Innovation.
A professional qualification in banking e.g. ACIB and Project Management (e.g. Prince II would be added advantage).
Ability to prepare product papers / Business cases.
Five years of relevant work experience at a large financial services institution.
Demonstrated experience in driving innovation and change agendas in Financial Services.
Demonstrated ability to link and apply complex technologies to business strategies & a high proficiency in Information and Communication Technology.
Ability to work creatively and analytically with a structured approach to problem-solving.
The ability to lead and inspire fintech teams that bring services to market faster than our competition is critical.
Strong skills in business process analysis and redesign.
Strong understanding of banking operations, FinTech, and product development trends.
Strong skills in project management and project execution.
Familiarity with the financial services industry in Uganda.
Strong understanding and experience in digital banking services.
Experience collaborating with a team of programmers with varying skillsets.
Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to work in a rapid and iterative development environment.
Experience with data analytics and tagging concepts.
Demonstrated interest in one of the following communities of practice: Digital Advisory, Transformation Leadership, or Organizational Change Management.
An understanding of how digital solutions impact user experience.
Familiarity with user research, user-centered design principles, process transformation, and data analytics
Ability to create financial models and business cases.
Fluency in English with strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills in client-facing situations.
Expert Microsoft Office skills including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Visio, Access, and Project.
Program or project management experience – especially using Agile methodologies added advantage.
Prior experience at a digital agency or with digital transformation projects.
Knowledge of digital ecosystem and digital skills for one or more industry.
