About US:
The Uganda Free Zones Authority is mandated to establish, develop, manage, market, maintain, supervise, control and to provide for other related matters of Free Zones in Uganda, as outlined in section 13 sub-section 1 to 2 of the Free Zones Act, 2014.
Job Summary: The IT Officer will be in charge of implementing and maintaining the Authority’s IT Infrastructure.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
· The incumbent will facilitate the development of a database structure;
· Manage the hardware and software maintenance for the Authority e.g. installing hardware, sorting out computer breakdowns, monitoring performance of machines and software, installing virus protection systems on computers;
· Ensure around the clock readiness of connectivity and IT support;
· Manage and maintain the internal network system;
· Actively participate in ail emergency situations to support the IT functions;
· Perform any other duties that may be assigned from time to time by the IT Executive
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
· The ideal candidate for the IT Officer vacancy should hold a Bachelors’ degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or its equivalent from a recognized University or Training Institution;
· Possession of professional IT certifications e.g. MCSA and any other internationally recognised professional certification.
· A minimum of three years’ experience in IT operations in a reputable organisation.
· Excellent oral and written communication skills;
· Excellent interpersonal skills;
· Keen attention to detail;
· Ability to work in a team;
· Self-motivated and capable of working under tight deadline in a competitive environment;
· Impeccable levels of integrity
· Age: Between 25 – 35 years old
