Job Summary: The Regional Systems Administrator is responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, monitoring and maintenance of Microsoft systems hardware and software and related data center infrastructure across the region. Provide guidance and training for the local IT on infrastructure topics.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
The jobholder will work closely with IT Manager for incidents escalation as well as vendors for the purchase of new hardware or any local software
Act as second level support and respond on the escalated tickets
Ensure configuration, operation and administration of any server hardware, operating system and monitoring system.
Ensure the Active Directory information is always correct and replicated across the Domain Controllers.
Propose and configure Group Policies in line with corporate guidelines, like password, access control, Windows Firewall etc.
The jobholder will maintain change logs to the infrastructure (Hardware/software) and periodically discuss the change logs with Head IT (HIT).
Develop, document and maintain installation and configuration procedures; contribute to maintain system standards.
Ensure all the devices connected to the LAN have access control in place. Administrative rights only given to authorized users.
Manage storage and access rights for Distributed File System (DFS) and Shared Drive.
Standardize and Prepare Windows Deployment Services (WDS) for image deployment for the workstations.
Ensure Windows Server Update Services (WSUS) is installed, configured and managed.
Ensure the operating systems are up to date in line with the corporate guideline. Exceptions to be approved by the HIT & Group CIO.
Maintain inventory of all computer equipment, applications, IT services and ensure the correct licensing of all products
Ensure all the software are licensed.
Non-standard software is approved and inventories are kept.
Non-standard & not approved exceptions are removed.
Ensure all the Windows Devices have standard Antivirus and up to date.
Ensure all Servers are backed up and copy is kept outside the building in a secured place. Distribute Daily backup report to the HIT.
Periodic review of the infrastructure and propose improvements or replacements.
Prepare investment budget annually, review with HIT.
Source regionally and Deploy standard hardware and software based on the approved investment request.
Ensure device labeling of all IT equipment with correct standard naming convention
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
The ideal candidate for the Regional Systems Administrator job opportunity should preferably hold a Bachelor of Science or IT related discipline /
A minimum of five years of related work experience
Expertise in RMAN Backup/Archiving solutions.
Shell scripting experience.
Working knowledge on writing Procedural language (PL/SQL) knowledge and experience.
Working knowledge in the Microsoft Office Package (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Projects)
Working knowledge in preparing technical documentation.
Ability to provide technical guidance and leadership to professional personnel in area of expertise.
Previous experience with performance tuning, explain plan execution processes.
Experience in relevant database design, development, implementation, test and documentation.
Good working knowledge of job scheduling and monitoring tools.
Expertise in the Microsoft Active Directory Federation Services and Domain Controller.
Expertise in areas of Windows Systems Administration and server backup.
Advanced knowledge in configuring Microsoft DFS, WDS and WSUS Services.
Expertise in the entire Watch Guard/Cisco line of products (Router, Switches, Firewall, Network Appliances).
Expertise in communication protocols at the medial layer (OSI Layer 1 to 3) and host layers (OSI layer 4 to 7) that includes but is not limited to Ethernet 802.11, ARP, IP, TCP, UDP, SSL, TLS, HTTP, SMTP, FTP, DNS.
Capable of making informed decisions and provide practical, timely solutions
Willingness to involve stakeholders in the decision making process, to get buy-in and to implement solutions.

Working knowledge for hardware: HP PCs, Laptops, Servers, Printers and Cisco Switches, Routers
Good knowledge and experience of Watch Guard Firewall, Cisco Switches, LAN, WAN, VPN.
Working knowledge with PRTG Network Monitoring or similar tools
Preferred knowledge and experience in ITIL and/or Cobit
Fluent in English
