About US:
Epicentre is a non-government organization created by Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF) in 1987 to help improve the quality of its field interventions. Since 1996, Epicentre has been a World Health Organization (WHO) collaborating centre for research in epidemiology and response to emerging diseases. Epicentre’s work hinges around three main activity areas: clinical research, field epidemiology and training.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Analysis of the context (local culture, traditions, habits, health perception) to adapt study messages and support the social mapping (villages, populations, actors).
Define and update the study communication strategy and related, including objectives, target population, messages, activities and specific actions.
Formulate a communication plan to respond to rumours about the study
In charge of the analysis of the context (focal culture, traditions, habits, health perception) to adapt study messages and support the social mapping (villages, populations, actors).
Define and update the study communication strategy and related, including objectives, target population, messages, activities, specific actions.
Ensure good communication within the communication team and with the team at the-study site.
Pre-test content and format of communication messages with target groups in order •to ensure the adequacy, relevance and full understanding of the messages.
Work in close coordination with the human resources department and study investigators, participate in the recruitment of the communication team.
Mentor and train the study team to adequately implement the communication strategy and to recognize and communicate any potential problems to study investigators.
Ensure regular collaboration and coordination with the team working at the study site, to guarantee that the communication team is part of the trial activities and contribute to the objectives of the project.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
The applicant should preferably hold a University degree in Social Sciences, Social Communication, Health Promotion or related studies.
Prior experience in related jobs (health promotion, project coordination, social research) within MSF or any other research organisation.
Local language desirable.
Managerial skills and very good team player.
