Umeme is a public company cross listed on both the Uganda Securities Exchange and the Nairobi Securities Exchange with over 6,483 shareholders, including high value international institutional investors. Umeme operates under a concession with a structural monopoly in the distribution of electricity across Uganda, distributing 99% of electricity in Uganda through a single buyer model.
Job Summary: The ORHVS Auditor will support Umeme by devising and implementing a robust audit programme that evaluates company compliance with its ORHVS regulations and identifies any gaps remaining in the system. The job holder will be in charge of tracking all agreed actions arising from audits until closure
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
· Work in liaison with the SOR Manager to develop and publish an annual audit programme and schedule, which is approved by the SSM and CTO
· Regularly track all agreed actions until they are fully closed
· Establish and publish audit protocols in accordance with best practice from pre audit notification to eventual report close out.
· Provide a high level report for monthly and ESG subcommittee reports
· Issue copies of all audit reports, through the SSM, to the heads of audit and compliance, notifying them when all actions are closed
· The incumbent will provide specialist advice to any ORHVS related accident investigation
· Ensure required ORHVS and other competencies remain current
· Form part of any ORHVS review bodies
· Exemplify the safety culture of the organization through personal conduct and proactive activities
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
· The ORHVS Auditor should hold an Ordinary Diploma in Electrical Engineering, (Level 6) ORHVS Authorization with a NEBOSH International General Certificate.
· A minimum of five years’ experience in an Electrical Operating Environment.
