Job Summary:
The Company seeks to hire an Electro-Mechanical Manager based in Uganda.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
The role will include, but not be limited to, the following activities and responsibilities:
· Harmonize Project technical compliance with relevant local authorities.
· Inspect, supervise, and monitor EPC contractor/subcontractor quality and performance.
· Maintain records of materials and equipment certifications, inspection reports.
· Oversee performance of subcontractors during construction and installation and provide direction with approval from Project/Line manager.
· Review installation documents from the E&M contractor.
· Schedule and Follow up all subcontractor work and deliveries as provided by the Project/Line Manager.
· Follow-up on commissioning activities.
· Supervise and train electro-mechanical team(s) of engineers and technicians.
· Meet construction and operational standards as directed by the Company and Project requirements.
· Sign acceptance of the various completed electro-mechanical works components, processes, and installations on behalf of the Project Manager.
· Review proposed materials, designs, manuals, schedules, and work plans.
· Responsibility for Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality performance of contractors and the project for the Electro-Mechanical department generally.
· Liaise with consultants, contractors, local, regional, and state stakeholders.
· Initiate and develop proposals to reduce overall project costs.
· Attend Factory Acceptance Tests (in-country or overseas) as required by the project.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
· Engineering Degree in Mechanical or Electrical from a reputable University.
· Fluent in English (written and oral).
· Total experience of a minimum of 15 years in the hydropower sector.
· Minimum of 5 years of experience at site (erection follow-up).
· Have strong experience in commissioning.
· Good knowledge of both electrical and mechanical components of a Hydropower project.
· Managerial experience.
· Preferably experience with Kaplan pit type turbine.
NB: Available to start immediately, at the end of December 2020.
