Job Summary:
The Maintenance Mechanic will oversee the performance and maintenance of large production machinery
As our workforce grows, we need an experienced & diligent Maintenance Mechanic to be at the helm!
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation.
Dismantles machinery and removes/replaces defective parts.
Installs, repairs, and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment
Running and fixing preventive maintenance.
Determines changes in requirements of parts by inspecting and measuring various instruments.
Troubleshoot and repair pumps, motors, decanter, separator and malexer equipment and determine the root cause of a breakdown and correct the problem
Maintains inventories of spare parts and supplies by checking stock and placing orders.
Trains production workers on routine preventive maintenance.
Provides mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and requests.
Prepares maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
Studies manufacturer manuals and blueprints and carefully follow directions when operating or setting up newly-acquired machinery.
Maintains a safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations
Performs mechanic skills including but not limited to mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting, and repair of production equipment/machines
Responsible for welding jobs, including fabricate metal parts, frames, stands, and brackets working from blueprints, diagrams, written, and verbal instructions
Design, build, repair and test various types of production equipment within specified time requirements
Assists the maintenance department in developing Maintenance Operating Procedures (MOP)
Performs safety inspections on all equipment/electrical systems to ensure safe operating conditions and immediately report any unsafe conditions found
Ensures all maintenance personnel follow all safety rules and processes and act as safety role model for the maintenance team and company
Provides advice, guidance, and training as necessary
Performs other duties as required
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
The Maintenance Mechanic should hold a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from a reputable University.
At least five years of related work experience
Demonstrated and proven ability to maintain and repair plant equipment, systems, machines, tools, and facilities
Extensive experience with various types of hand and power tools, welding, and fabrication
Strong mechanical background for new installations and retrofits, repairs, and upgrades
Excellent and proven ability to build and maintain cross functional relationships in team environment and ability to effectively communicate at all levels of the organization
Ability to read and understand plans and blueprints
Strong ability to be hands-on, work independently, and remain self-motivated with minimal direct supervision
Should be able to identify markets where original and affordable spare parts are sold
Able to work extended hours and be flexible with working hours to accommodate business needs
Willing to travel
