About Hanns:
Hanns R. Neumann Stiftung Africa is part of the Germany based foundation “Hanns R. Neumann Stiftung” (HRNS), a not-for-profit organization established in 2005. With the objective of promoting sustainable development, HRNS implements hands-on projects to improve working and living conditions of small-scale coffee farmers. Its activities concentrate on the economic and social development of producer communities by enhancing their competitiveness, forming and strengthening farmer organizations, creating better market linkages and promoting access to important support services, while at the same time promoting sustainable coffee farming and long-term use of natural resources. Hanns R. Neumann Stiftung Africa is implementing a new USAID-funded program addressing climate change adaptation in coffee production.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
The Field Technicians will implement program allocated to them Manage field level budgets
Coach local extensionists and establish extension systems for training small-holder farmers Prepare and submit field-level reports
Report to the Program Manager
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
The Field Technicians must hold Bachelors’ Degree in agriculture, environmental sciences or similar discipline
Good knowledge of sustainable coffee farming
At least five years’ experience in extension work within rural locations
Previous experience in climate change adaptation/ environmental conservation would be an advantage
Highly self motivated and disciplined
Excellent communication skills
Ability to ride a motor cycle with a valid riding licence
