About US:
The Government of The Republic of Uganda has received funds from Arab Bank for Economic Development in Africa (BADEA), Saudi Fund for Development (SFD), OPEC Fund for International Development (OFID) and the Government of Uganda for rehabilitation and expansion of Kayunga and Yumbe Hospitals. The project objective is to deliver the Uganda National Minimum Health Care Package (UNMHCP), through improvement of Health Infrastructure.
Job Summary: The Project Supervising Engineers will offer technical support to the Project Coordinator on ALL engineering related activities of the Project site.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
· Regularly review and check on behalf of Government the engineering designs and the technical specifications developed by the Project Consultants to ensure consistency with the project objectives;
· Manage and monitor all civil works and services during the design and implementation of the project;
· In charge of the participation in preparation of Tender Documents, Tender Evaluations and preparation of Tender Reports;
· Conduct scheduled site visits and participate in monthly site meetings for supervision of the works under the project;
· Significantly contribute to the preparation of quarterly project progress reports;
· Actively contribute to the regular performance appraisals of the consultants and contractors to ensure they are in line with their terms of references;
· Take part in the appraisal of the project to ensure that the key performance indicators (KPI) of the project are achieved;
· Ensure the project records are well kept and maintained for completeness and safety;
· In charge of preparing project annual work plans, and quarterly / annual progress reports in agreed format;
· The Project Supervising Engineers will offer guidance on all electro mechanical infrastructure developments and Medical Equipment of the project.
· Carry out any other duties as may be assigned by the Project Coordinator.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
· The Project Supervising Engineer should preferably hold a B.Sc Engineering (Civil) or equivalent from a recognised University. A relevant Postgraduate qualification will be an added advantage
· The applicant should be registered with an appropriate engineering registration board.
· A minimum of six years’ experience in construction engineering, project site supervision and management.
· Prior experience in Medical buildings will be an added advantage.
· Computer literate and competent in the use of standard architectural and engineering software.
· Excellent communication skills, high integrity, proven ability to work in teams
· Excellent interpersonal relations, time management skills, and attention to detail
