Reporting to: General Manager
Job objective: This role will provide guidance to stakeholders on Quality, Safety & Environment related functions based on standards, regulatory requirements, code of practices, guidelines and technical requirements.
Responsibility Area / Location: All C-Care IMC Facilities, subsidiaries and partners as required.
Main Responsibilities:
• Develop and realign strategic and operating plans, policies, short and long – term objectives for your section with approval from management.
• Similarly, ensure appropriate quality and environmental strategic objectives, targets and programs are implemented throughout the organisation with guidance and in agreement with management.
• Provides communications, coaching and training to managers and staff at all levels to ensure competency, commitment and compliance with quality programs and initiatives;
• Utilizes creative and innovative methods to ensure staff commitment to high quality standards.
• Ensure the appropriateness of the quality management and environmental policy and the effectiveness of the quality management system are continually reviewed and actions taken for improvement.
• As the EMS representative ensure that established environmental management systems are monitored and legal requirements adhered to.
• Measure performance and identify any areas of weakness, recommending and implementing improvements.
• Use relevant quality tools and make sure managers and other staff understand how to improve the business.
• Coordinate the internal and external QMS/ EMS audits and assessment of all departments as and when required.
• Work with the Senior Management Team (SMT) to ensure that the QMS/ EMS are effectively integrated into the performance management systems to ensure adherence to standards.
• Ensure proper waste management practices are adhered to, infection prevention and control, and emergency response procedures by coordinating with the respective clinics.
• Report to senior management on the performance of the QMS and EMS and any need for improvement as required.
• Schedule management reviews following the set guidelines and agreed standards. To this end, ensure accurate record keeping of all reviews, documents and verifications of corrective actions during meetings, audits and sessions.
• Be the document and records controller for the company by setting up and maintaining controls and document procedures
• Advise the SMT on effective strategies to improve performance and recommend strategies to implement performance improvement interventions as required.
• Ensure top management carries out planning of the quality and environment management systems that meet organisational business goals.
• Ensure that the supply chain adheres to set standards and maintains a consistent level of quality of products and supplies.
• Review, recommend and conduct quality, environmental, safety and health training and education for employees.
• Plan and implement QMS/EMS training for EMS representatives and new employees to raise awareness and adherence to QMS/EMS requirements; and dully coordinate staff drills and report on each drill carried out, showing its strengths and weaknesses and learning points from them.
• Ensure the promotion for awareness of QMS/EMS to all customers and other requirements throughout the organisation.
• Spear head and together with other stakeholders identify and assess risk areas in the organisation.
• Coordinate with departments in ensuring that the legal status of the company is up-to-date, and adherence to standards e.g. under the Ministry of Health, the Uganda Medical and Dental Practitioners Council, National Environment Management Authority and any other governing bodies.
• Implement and follow up on corrective actions and documented incident reports (showing the cause, intervention and measures taken to minimize or eliminate further occurrence).
• Gather and analyse data and use it to plan and manage both projects and systems; extrapolate data for monitoring and quality assurance purposes.
• Ensure that staff / departments have the required safety and protective gear / working tools.
• Any other roles that might be assigned by your supervisor

Skills And Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Medicine, Public health, Nursing or related field.
• Three to five years of quality management systems experience in a related healthcare field with supervisory experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Analytical and problem-solving ability.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to analyze data and create review processes.
• Strong supervisory and leadership skills
• Proven track record of delivering results
