Job Summary: The Legal & Administration Officer will offer legal and administrative support to Monitor Publications Limited (MPL) and its sister concerns; NTV and Spark TV.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
· Continuous regularization of relationships between the Company and other parties through well negotiated agreements.
· In charge of assessing the Company’s business risks and arranging for appropriate insurance cover,
· Obtaining the requisite documents for the company’s insurance claims and submitting the same to the insurers for prompt settlement of the claims.
· Responsible for estate management and continuous monitoring of the company’s properties, leases, tenancies, licences, etc.
· Rendering legal advice on a wide range of issues.
· In charge of continuous monitoring of changes in legislation and advising-the Company on compliance.
· Work closely with the regulators to ensure compliance with regulatory matters and with external lawyers on legal matters.
· Perform any other duties as assigned by the Company Secretary.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
· The applicant must hold a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree from a recognized institution.
· Possession of a diploma in Legal practice and must possess a valid practicing certificate.
· A minimum of three years of professional experience with a year as an advocate in legal practice or as an in-house counsel in a busy corporate entity.
