About New Vision:
The Vision Group incorporated as the New Vision Printing & Publishing Company Limited (NVPPCL), started business in March 1986. It is a multimedia business housing newspaper, magazines, internet publishing, television, radio broadcasting, commercial printing, advertising and distribution services. NVPPCL is listed on the Uganda Stock Exchange, with an expected turnover of over UGX 60 billion (FY 2010/2011).

Job Summary: The Administrative Assistant RUPINY will provide administrative support and handle all finance related matters to ensure the smooth flow of operations in the Lira Bureau.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Oversee the provision of office support staff to ensure that all areas are managed as per defined standards.
Coordinate the payment of utility bills to ensure they are paid on time.
The incumbent will make sure that all office facilities are well maintained.
Payout imprest as approved by Editor as per defined guidelines providing accountability and compile monthly report on imprest paid.
The jobholder will code vouchers and input them in Navision.
Bank company cash as per defined schedules, input banking slips in Navision and send all receipts to head office for proper accountability.
Process freelancers’ payment in Navision.
Requisition for office supplies and manage the office store to ensure proper use of all consumables.
Work closely with HR department on all staff welfare and all benefit issues.
Prepare and submit a monthly story count report for all freelancers/staff writers and photographers.
Compile imprest expenditure on a fortnight basis.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
The applicants for the New Vision Administrative Assistant RUPINY vacancy should hold a Diploma from a recognized University
A minimum of two (2) years of administration experience with a background in Accountancy or Book keeping.
Proficiency in the use of Microsoft office packages and some accounting software.
Excellent communication, organizational, and planning skills.
Ability to handle pressure.
Proven ability to apply creative thinking to practical problem solving with an aim of improving service delivery.
Professional, Informative with the ability to provide outstanding customer service.
Proficiency in spoken and written Luo.
