Branch Manager – Kampala – VisionFund Uganda

VisionFund Uganda (VFU) is a microfinance affiliate of World Vision Uganda and World Vision International. Its mission is to improve the lives of children by providing low income entrepreneurs with sustainable and integrated financial services that unlock their potential.

Job Summary: The Branch Manager will mainly mentor and oversee all the staff and operations in the branch. The incumbent will also ensure an efficient financial and integration performance of the branch. He /she will exchange information with the Operations Manager, Credit Supervisor and other branches, and ensuring an adequate information flow within the branch. The Manager will be responsible for marketing the products and services of VFU

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Branch Growth & Profitability (50%): Minimum net client growth of 5clients per credit officer, Branch Portfolio at risk 1 day less than 10%
Financial Reporting: Ensure that financial reports completed & submitted by 5th day of subsequent month with minimum errors identified (Also includes OVCs and ADP reporting).
Verification of branch transactions (petty cash, teller cash, and vault cash/mobile money, loan disbursements, insurance limits etc).
Business Development campaign including radio appearance and community programs.
Controls branch expenses and manages the branch budget.
Ensure compliance to policies and procedures
Regularly review back to office reports
Perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
The ideal candidate should hold a University degree in economics, accounting, business administration;
Related experience an advantage (e.g. working as a loans officer)
Determined personality with initiative, perseverance and the ability to motivate and manage a team
Capability and willingness to take responsibility and highly developed sense of rectitude
Ready to comply and live up to and in accordance with the organization Ideals and Core Values
Computer literacy i.e. proficient in Microsoft office applications
Ability to plan and manage finances, including a basic understanding of accounting.
Be a good trainer, facilitator, mentor, and coach
Excellent communication and marketing skills
The incumbent must be a committed Christian, able to stand above denominational diversities.
Ability to lead and participate in the leadership of daily devotions
