Business Support Officer – Kampala – Q Sourcing

Job Summary: The Business Support Officer will be responsible for handling day to day operational reporting processes. The incumbent also provides the Business with accurate and timely reporting. Designs and constructs relational databases for data warehousing. He /s she will also coordinate new data development ensuring consistency and integration with existing warehouse structure.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Provides the management with periodic and continuous reports related to business performance and non-financials figures.
Attends meetings with business units for data gathering and provides the business analyst team with the appropriate information.
Regularly reviews business requests to improve reporting; researches data sources for accurate data and better reporting delivery.
Supports the continuous improvement efforts in enhancing performance and providing increased functionality.
Checks accuracy of data and revenue by visual examination and reports directly to the superiors in case needed.
Supervises and tracks the operations and maintenance of the systems databases, and reviews the routine system checks;
Applies relational database concepts and query languages in order to design required summary or aggregation tables to support analyses.

Key Performance Indicators:
Financial and non-financial reporting for prepaid and postpaid base.
Daily, weekly revenue and subscriber reporting.
Subscriber behavior and performance to assist marketing analysis.
Data warehouse routine checks and ensuring information security and data integrity.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
The Business Support Officers should hold Bachelor’s Degrees in Computer Science or Computer Engineering (from a reputed and recognized University).
A minimum of three to five years professional experience in same field – preferably in IT-Telecom Sector.
Past exposure and experience in Oracle DBMS with excellent SQL/PL SQL Knowledge.
Working knowledge with others databases (SQL SERVER, ACCESS, SYBASE, …).
Experienced with UNIX OS, Windows server suites, and Shell Scripting.
Knows ITIL fundamental concepts, practices and procedures
Handles and applies availability, capacity, information security and service level management principles, practices and procedures.
Handles and applies request fulfillment, access management principles, practices and procedures.
Detailed working knowledge with others databases (SQL SERVER, ACCESS, SYBASE, …).
Experienced with UNIX OS, Windows server suites, and Shell Scripting.
Knows ITIL fundamental concepts, practices and procedures
Handles and applies availability, capacity, information security and service level management principles, practices and procedures.
Handles and applies request fulfillment, access management principles, practices and procedures.

Age: 25 years and above
